Our Juniors Section has a clear strategy for the future development of all the members.
We run regular competions and are continue to develop our training programmes.
The Strategy is comprehensive andis set out below.

With a handicap - Boys 13,  Girls 1
Without a handicap - Boys 27, Girls 11
Juniors can join at any age, there is no waiting list or joining fee.
Junior (over 16 but under 18 on 1st January 2013) the subscription for 2013 - £85.00.
Juvenile (over 12 but under 16 on 1st January 2013) the subscription for 2013 - £65.00.
Under 12's (under 12 on 1st January 2013) the subscription for 2013 - £25.00.

For 2017 season Members of the Club will only pay for the Oldest Child member of their family, any other children will be free.


There is a good practice area with a 200 yard range and a chipping range. There is lsoa practise putting green and a practice bunker.
There is a Junior noticeboard. There is no specific section of the Clubhouse designated for the Juniors, however they are made to feel welcome.


There is a comprehensive schedule of competitions for the Junior Section. These are mainly played on a Friday evening.

Roughly once a fortnight there is a 6 Hole competition for the juniors who do not have a handicap. There is no age limit for moving from these competitions to the full 18 Hole competitions. Both the player and the Junior Convenor must be satisfied that the individual can cope with walking a full round and not hold back their playing partners.

Juniors can play in adult competitions (with some exceptions) if their handicaps are less than 24 for boys and 36 for girls.

Policies and Procedures

We have a Child Protection Policy in place.
The Club Constitution covers the Junior Section as well.
We have a Junior Captain and Vice Captain, elected by the current Captain. These positions form part of the Junior Committee. The Junior Captain is encouraged to be involved in as many aspects of the section as he wants. This includes running the competitions, maintaining handicaps, and encouraging other Juniors to enter the competitions.

Aims of the Section

To encourage Juniors to play and enjoy golf.
To have at least 3 Level 1 Clubgolf coaches by start of 2013.
To have at least 1 Level 1 Clubgolf advanced coach by end of 2013.
To provide coaching for new starters and a pathway for Juniors to get a handicap.
To have at least 15 girls members of the Club.
To have at least 6 girls with a handicap by end of 2013.
To have a minimum of 15 entrants for every handicap competition in 2013.
To run a successful Junior Open with at least 50 competitors.
To encourage Juniors to play in other Open Competitions.
To encourage the juniors with the correct handicap to play in adult competitions.
To have at least 4 boys with a handicap of less than 10.
To have at least 1 player selected to play for the Region or Country.


To run coaching through Frank Scott, golf Pro.
To secure sponsorship for the Open and actively promote the tournament.
Ensure that our improving golfers get an opportunity for more structured coaching.
Hold a Child Protection course to ensure all volunteers are aware of the issues relating to the Protection of Vulnerable Groups in May 2011.
