Re-arranged Ladies Holiday Stableford - 24th September

I don't know if it was holiday weather at Minto on Sunday 24th September but the competition was the re-arranged Holiday Stableford so I think we can bring out the holiday icon to go with the story.  Margaret Bland may be in holiday mood as a result of her win with 33 points, a good 5 points clear of the rest of the field.

Second place went to.Marilyn Adams on 28 points just pipping Sue James on countback.

Full results are shown below.

The final ladies competition of 2017 will take place next Saturday 7th October.

Ladies 9 Hole Competition No 8 - 20th September

The Ladies 9 Hole Series completed for the year on Wednesday this week, 20th September.  Four of these popular competitions are played early in the season with the other four played in the latter part of the season.. This week, we had eight Ladies taking part.  The best score of the day was 16 points by Marion King.  Marion was three points clear of Joyce Michie, who in turn just pipped Flora Kerr by one point.

There are now just two Ladies competitions left this year.  The re-arranged Holiday Stableford is being played this coming Sunday and Medal No 7 scheduled for Saturday 7th October.

Full results of ladies 9 Hole No 8 can be seen below.

Senior Ladies Walker Quaich - 13th September

For the second year running, the weather has impacted on the Senior Ladies Walker Quaich with the result that today's competition was played as a 9-hole Stableford on what the Ladies Handicap system terms as 'the Monsoon Course', a title which seems quite appropriate given the rain of the past twenty four hours.  The golf though wasn't affect as Gill Cartwright returned a net par 18 points to lead the fiield by 3 points from Sue James on 15 points.

Marion King and Marilyn Adams were very close behind on 14

Attention now turns to the Ladies Lothian Rosebowl which will be played this coming Sunday 17th September.  Online entry for this competition remains open until Friday evening at 6pm.  You can find the entry form by clicking on the Enter Medals button on any page of the website.

There have a been a few Ladies competitions recently and the rest of this story brings together the results of the three most recent Ladies events prior to the Walker Quaich.  There are scores from the latest two 9 Hole Competitions plus the overall results of Medal No 4 that was played in two stages on two different versions of the course nearly two months apart due to adverse weather condition.  We have different winners of all three competitions.

For the 9 hole competitions, the winners were Helen Todd (9 hole No 6) on 19 points  and Marion King [9 hole no 7) on 16 points.  The  weather for 9 Hole No 7 was not very good.

When the two Medal rounds were combined, Lily Towers came out winner of Medal No 4 with a net 70.
