Match v Peebles -28th May - AWAY

Iain Oliver reports that Minto Seniors team success this year had a setback at Peebles on Tuesday 28th May.  He says the weather was kind to us as the rain stopped five minutes before we were due to tee off and from then on the sun even made an appearance perfect playing conditions. The course was in excellent condition and after the match we all enjoyed a very tasty meal.  David Howden and Iain scored gross 33 to the turn, 2 under par but found themselves 2 down, so did well to only be beaten 3 & 1.

Iain says all credit to our opponents who played well within.their handicaps and the match was played in the true spirit of the game. Full results are shown below.  The calendar indicates that the next match is against Duns, Away on 6th June.

Performance to date for the team is Played 3, Won 2, Lost 1, Rubbers for 8.5, Rubbers Against 9.5

Match v Rothbury - 15th April - AWAY

Minto Seniors crossed the border on Monday to take on Rothbury on their home turf.  Rothbury are a tough team to beat anywhere, but especially on their own course.    Minto were up to the challenge though and ran out winners by 3.5 to 2.5.  Eric English reports that the hosts were very hospitable in defeat and it was a most enjoyable day.  Conditions overhead were a bit cold, but Minto shrugged off the temperature en route to their win.

Results by pairing are shown below.

The next match will be at home against Goswick on 30th April.
